At StackAdapt we collect certain anonymous data about users in order to display effective native and video advertisements. Native advertisements are advertisements that are integrated into the content of a given platform, such as a website. Based on the behaviour and preferences of the users that we have identified, we seek to group those users into certain categories. We then seek to display the most relevant advertisements to the users in those categories.
We collect data about users through our services may include such information as your Internet Protocol ("IP") address, your browser, recent search history, and your activity on various websites (the "Anonymous Data"). The Anonymous Data does not include information that identifies you personally.
How We Collect Anonymous Data
Use of Anonymous Data
We use the Anonymous Data that we collect in order to display advertisements that we believe may be relevant to you. In seeking to identify relevant advertisements, we use this Anonymous Data to create and refine user segments, develop and refine algorithms, and to understand better how your interaction with a website might be of interest to advertisers.
We employ reasonable industry standard measures to protect against the unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction of the information we collect. While we are committed to ensuring the security of the information, you should be aware that no protection measures can provide a 100% guarantee of security. Consequently, we do not warrant or guarantee the security of the information.
We will disclose any of the Anonymous Data to trusted third parties, such as advertisers, when we have agreements with them for their use of our services on the StackAdapt Platform.
We reserve the right to disclose the Anonymous Data as required by law, when we believe that disclosure is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us and to defend against legal claims. We also reserve the right to disclose the Anonymous Data to investigate the breach of an agreement, to protect or defend our proprietary rights and for the purposes of detecting, suppressing or preventing fraudulent activities.
In the event of a transfer or sale of StackAdapt's business or portion of its business to a third party, StackAdapt may disclose and transfer information that it holds to the third party, or give the acquirer a license to use that information. The information will be disclosed and used solely for the purposes related to the transaction.
